British Queen celebrates

Manchester United's defensive lineup could see the return of Lisandro Martinez for their upcoming Premier League encounter against Brentford, according to manager Erik ten Hag. Martinez,

the 26-year-old Argentine center-back, has been sidelined due to a knee injury sustained during United's 3-0 victory over West Ham United in February.

With United currently sitting sixth in the league standings with 10 matches remaining, their next fixture takes them to west London to face Brentford, currently placed 15th in the league.

"There is a chance (he'll be back in the squad)," Ten Hag informed reporters. "We have missed him in every game because he brings composure and calmness to the team. Simultaneously, he possesses a winning attitude, which he can clearly express. He can transmit that to the team, which significantly contributes to our performance levels."

Ten Hag also provided a positive update regarding defender Luke Shaw, who is expected to return from a muscle injury before the season concludes. "He is still on schedule and will rejoin our team," Ten Hag affirmed.

Additionally, the emergence of 18-year-old midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been a source of encouragement for United. Mainoo, a product of United's youth academy, recently made his debut for England as a substitute in their 1-0 loss to Brazil, followed by an impressive performance against Belgium at Wembley Stadium.

"His good start to his international career doesn't come as a surprise to us. We know his capabilities, and he can quickly adapt to high levels," remarked Ten Hag. "It appears very natural, and we are delighted for him and proud of our academy. It's a significant compliment to the entire club."

Ten Hag highlighted Mainoo's positive attitude towards the game, stating, "He wants to play football, win, give his best every day, improve, and ultimately, enjoy himself on the pitch. For him, enjoyment means being dominant, dictating the game, and securing victories." Photo by jmmuguerza, Wikimedia commons.
