The Netherlands have been named the winners of FIFA's Fair Play Award following the 2026 World Cup, after finishing the tournament with the best disciplinary record.
FIFA announced the award after Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final.
Ronald Koeman's side received just three yellow cards throughout the tournament, all of them in their opening match against Japan. The Dutch then completed their remaining fixtures against Sweden, Tunisia and Morocco without a single booking.
The Netherlands also attracted attention away from the pitch, with thousands of Oranje supporters taking part in colourful pre-match marches behind the team's "Oranje Bus" on their way to the stadiums.
The fan processions became a familiar sight in Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and Monterrey, the four host cities where the Dutch team played. The celebrations drew large crowds, with many local residents in both the United States and Mexico joining the festivities.
Back home, millions of viewers followed the tournament's conclusion. According to figures from the National Media Survey, an average of 3.44 million people watched Spain's victory over Argentina in the final.
