Bloomsbury Publishing (BMY.L) announced on Thursday that its annual trading performance is set to surpass market expectations, driven by strong demand for its fiction titles and an
expanding academic books sector.
The publisher, known for consistently outperforming forecasts, has seen profits surge thanks to the popularity of Sarah J. Maas' 'romantasy' novels, including the widely successful A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series.
In addition to its fiction success, Bloomsbury has recently expanded its focus on academic books and digital resources, aiming to broaden its reach to universities and institutions worldwide.
Before Thursday’s announcement, the company estimated market expectations for the financial year ending February 28 to be £333.4 million ($432 million) in revenue and £39.6 million in pre-tax profit. Photo by Mo HH92 at English Wikipedia.
