Gorillas at San Diego Safari Park are tested positive for the coronavirus. It is the first case of a primate infection in the United States and probably worldwide. A total of eight gorillas are

infected. Some have symptoms, including coughing. Lisa Peterson, the Executive Director of the San Diego Zoo in Escondido, California, told The Associated Press on January 11 that the gorillas were supposedly infected from one of the park staff who maintained their enclosures. He was wearing a mask at work and had not known he was a carrier of the coronavirus. “Aside from some congestion and coughing, the gorillas are doing well,” stressed Lisa Peterson, executive director of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
