British Airways has revealed plans for a significant expansion of its flight network from London, introducing new routes to Riga in Latvia and Belgrade in Serbia, both departing from London

Heathrow. The flights to Riga will commence from 29 October 2023, operating three times a week, while the Belgrade flights will start on 31 October 2023, also operating three times a week.

Moreover, British Airways will launch a 12-times weekly service to Cologne, Germany, from London Heathrow, starting from 30 October 2023. The airline's subsidiary, BA Cityflyer, will also introduce a weekly service to Milan Linate Airport from London City Airport starting on 5 November 2023. Additionally, travelers can enjoy weekly winter flights to Turin, Italy, from Heathrow on Sundays starting from 10 December 2023, complementing the existing daily service from London Gatwick.

The airline will continue some routes into the winter season, with BA Cityflyer offering direct flights to San Sebastian, Spain, on Thursdays and Sundays year-round. Additionally, the operations to Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport from Heathrow will also continue through the winter season.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Director of Network and Alliances, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion to new European cities and the increased capacity to Italy, offering more choices for travelers across Europe.

All flights on these routes will include a Club Europe (business class) option, providing travelers with additional amenities such as pre-flight lounge access, full meal service with beverages from the bar, priority boarding, and extra baggage allowance.

With over 190 destinations in more than 65 countries, British Airways boasts one of the most extensive flight networks from London, catering to a wide range of travelers. The airline's recent additions in 2023 included routes to Aruba, Guyana, and Cincinnati. Photo by BriYYZ, Wikimedia commons.
