King Charles III was presented with the Honours of Scotland, including the crown and sceptre, during a ceremony in Edinburgh to commemorate his coronation. The King, accompanied by
Queen Camilla and the Duke & Duchess of Rothesay, attended the Service of Thanksgiving at St Giles' Cathedral.
As part of the ceremony, King Charles III received the Elizabeth Sword, a specially made item for the occasion, presented by Olympic gold medalist Dame Katherine Grainger. The original sword, deemed too fragile for use, was replaced for the ceremony.
The Sceptre was presented to His Majesty by Lady Dorrian, the Lord Justice Clerk, while the Crown of Scotland was presented by the Duke of Hamilton.
Following the conclusion of the service, Their Majesties returned to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where they witnessed a flypast by the Red Arrows.
