British Queen celebrates

Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, joined hundreds of runners in the North Yorkshire town of Northallerton, located within his Richmond

constituency, for a 10k race. Addressing the crowd before the race, Sunak humorously mentioned that he had not been able to run for a while due to his busy schedule. He expressed his goal of completing the race in under an hour, acknowledging the importance of physical exercise and thanking everyone for their presence.

When asked which former Prime Minister or current minister he would like to run against, Sunak playfully dismissed the suggestion of "Boris" from the crowd and instead expressed his interest in racing against Penny Mordaunt while she carries the Coronation sword. Penny Mordaunt, the Leader of the House of Commons, recently gained recognition for her role in carrying the 8lb (3.6kg) Sword of State during King Charles III's Coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Dressed in a custom-made teal outfit with a matching cape and headband adorned with gold feather embroidery, Mordaunt became one of the highlights of the Coronation, holding and carrying the ceremonial pieces throughout the majority of the service.

During the event, Prime Minister Sunak, sporting a blue top and navy blue shorts, ran in support of the Pendragon Community Trust. The trust operates a multi-sensory center that provides a safe space for adults, children, and their families. Sunak praised the exceptional work carried out by the trust, emphasizing its positive impact on numerous families within their community.

Sunak's visit to his Yorkshire constituency coincided with his directive to officials to ensure a more inclusive and representative honours system. The Prime Minister aims to have the MBEs, OBEs, CBEs, and knighthoods awarded to individuals from various regions across the United Kingdom. He intends to recognize those who have made significant contributions to public service and those who have effectively saved taxpayer money.

In an interview with The Times, Penny Mordaunt opened up about her experience at the Coronation and candidly shared aspects of her personal life as a single individual with a fondness for work and four cats. She discussed her efforts to manage the physical strain of the event, including preemptively taking painkillers to alleviate muscle soreness. Mordaunt also revealed her choice of comfortable footwear, opting for fluffy slippers during periods of rest in the cloisters before putting on heels at the last possible moment.
