British Queen celebrates

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has confirmed that his party has begun receiving cryptocurrency donations, marking a new step in his effort to align with Britain’s growing digital asset

community. Speaking at a crypto conference in London on Wednesday, Farage dismissed suggestions that he was emulating former U.S. President Donald Trump’s strategy of courting crypto supporters.

“We’ve already received a couple of donations in crypto,” Farage told Reuters, though he declined to specify the amount or the donors involved. When asked if any of the contributions came from crypto-related businesses, he replied, “Not that I’m aware of,” adding that some sponsorship may have come through the conference itself.

The move mirrors a broader political trend. In the United States, Trump has branded himself the “crypto president,” attracting backing from the industry as it becomes an influential lobbying force. But Farage insists his stance predates Trump’s.

“No, no, I was way before Trump,” Farage said. “I came out publicly with this in 2020, and he came out for it much, much later.”

Reform UK, which currently holds just five of the 650 seats in Britain’s parliament, has been gaining traction in recent opinion polls ahead of the next general election, scheduled for 2029. Farage, best known for his role in Brexit and his hardline stance on immigration, remains a close ally of Trump.

While he declined to comment on Trump’s election strategy, Farage noted his own personal interest in digital assets. “I’ve got some crypto investments for the long term,” he said. “But just occasionally, when I fancy the market, I have a bit of fun.”

Earlier this year, Reform UK became the first political party in Britain to accept donations in bitcoin, according to the BBC.
