Pizza Hut will close 68 of its dine-in restaurants across the UK after its local operator, DC London Pie, went into administration — a move that will affect more than 1,200 jobs.
The closures include 11 delivery-only outlets, with FTI Consulting appointed as the administrator overseeing the process.
In a glimmer of good news, Yum! Brands, the global parent company of Pizza Hut, has stepped in to purchase 64 of the remaining dine-in locations through a pre-pack administration deal. This acquisition is expected to save around 1,276 jobs and ensure business continuity for many of the affected teams.
A spokesperson for Pizza Hut UK said:
“Today we announce the acquisition of the Pizza Hut dine-in operations through a pre-packaged administration, after FTI was announced today as administrators of DC London Pie, a franchisee of Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants. We are pleased to secure the continuation of 64 sites to safeguard our guest experience and protect the associated jobs. 2,259 team members will transfer to the new Yum! equity business, including above-restaurant leaders and support teams."
DC London Pie had only taken over Pizza Hut’s UK dine-in restaurants in January 2025, following a previous insolvency process.
Yum! Brands, which also owns KFC and Taco Bell, reported a $374 million net income in the second quarter of 2025, up slightly from $367 million the year before. However, Pizza Hut’s performance lagged behind, with a 1% drop in global same-store sales and a 5% decline in the US during the same period. Photo by Bledard92~commonswiki, Wikimedia commons.
