Al-Nassr have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Joao Felix in a deal worth up to £43.7 million.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international has been granted permission to travel to Riyadh to undergo a medical, paving the way for a permanent move to the Saudi Pro League side. He will join up with compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, who fended off interest from Felix’s former club, Benfica.
Chelsea are set to recoup the £45 million they paid Atletico Madrid for Felix last summer. The forward also spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, a deal which brought in a £5 million loan fee.
This transfer is part of a wider squad overhaul at Chelsea, who recently lifted the Club World Cup. The Blues have already offloaded goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, along with winger Noni Madueke, as part of a push to balance the books.
So far, the West London club has generated approximately £130 million through sales, with additional players — including Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, and Armando Broja — also on the market.
Despite raising significant funds, Chelsea have spent around £212 million on new signings, such as striker Liam Delap, winger Jamie Gittens, and forward Joao Pedro. They also continue to pursue targets like midfielder Xavi Simons and defender Jorrel Hato.
The club remains under pressure from UEFA to end the transfer window with a “positive transfer balance” following a £27 million fine.
