London’s annual Eid on the Square celebration will return to Trafalgar Square on Saturday, 30 May, as the popular event marks its 20th anniversary in the heart of the capital.

Announced by Sadiq Khan, the free family festival will celebrate Eid al-Adha with a day-long programme of music, culture, art, literature, fashion and food.

The event will run from noon until 6pm and is expected to draw thousands of visitors to central London for performances and community activities.

Radio presenter Nadia Ali and TikTok personality Juwayria Ghazali will host the main stage, which will feature performances from the London Arab Orchestra, the London Turkish Association Dance Group and spoken word artist Khaled Siddiq.

Visitors will also be able to take part in a range of interactive activities across the Square, including an immersive installation by Everyday Muslim, fencing workshops led by Muslim Girls Fence and creative sessions in the Alif New Beginnings Family Zone.

Food stalls serving international cuisine will be available throughout the day, alongside market vendors selling jewellery, books and handmade goods. Families will also have the chance to meet children’s characters Omar and Hana during the celebrations.

The event is sponsored by Muslim Aid, Remitly and British Muslim Trust, and is being delivered in partnership with the Eid Community Advisory Group.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I’m delighted that Eid on the Square returns to Trafalgar Square with a packed programme of art, music and cultural performances. For 20 years this wonderful event has brought Londoners and visitors of all backgrounds together to celebrate the huge contribution Muslim Londoners make to our city. It’s another great example of how our capital’s diversity is our greatest strength, as we build a better London for everyone. Eid Mubarak!”

Tim Holmes, Interim CEO of Muslim Aid said: “Muslim Aid is proud to be the official charity partner of Eid on the Square for another year. Eid on the Square is a symbol of the best in our society: a celebration of community, diversity and shared values. In a time of increased tensions both here and abroad, it is important to bring our communities together for good, to focus on what binds us, not just our shared concerns but our shared joy. By putting our visions for a better future front and centre, we recognise our collective power to shape the future we all hope for. We’re proud to partner with the Mayor of London’s Eid on the Square to bring our shared vision to life.”

A spokesperson from Remilty said: “Eid is more than a celebration — it's a moment to reconnect with the people and places that matter most. At Remitly, we understand that deeply. Sponsoring Eid on the Square is our way of showing up for the communities we serve, and celebrating the traditions, togetherness, and joy that make this time of year so special.” Photo by DAVID HOLT from London, England, Wikimedia commons.
