Great Britain's men's gymnastics team has claimed gold at the European Championships in Leipzig, Germany — their first team title at the event since 2022.

The victorious squad featured Olympic medallists Jake Jarman and Harry Hepworth, two-time European floor champion Luke Whitehouse, and senior team newcomers Jonas Rushworth and Jamie Lewis. Together, they secured a winning score of 247.528, beating Switzerland (silver) and Italy (bronze).

Only Jarman and Whitehouse had competed in the gold-winning team from three years ago. Reflecting on the win, Jarman told BBC Sport, "I'm incredibly proud of this team. It was a new group, but the chemistry clicked right away."

Rushworth, just 19 and making his senior debut, called the experience a "privilege," adding, "There’s no better group of lads to be here with."

The team event also doubled as a qualifier for the men’s all-around and apparatus finals.

Meanwhile, Great Britain's women's team finished sixth. The championships continue with the mixed team final on Wednesday.  Photo by 2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Wikimedia commons.
