Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA are set to headline this year's Glastonbury Festival, as announced by organizers.
This marks the first instance in the event's history where female acts have secured two of the three headline slots.
Additionally, country star Shania Twain will occupy the coveted "legend slot" on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to BBC News, Twain expressed her excitement, stating, "Everyone always talks about it being the pinnacle of festival slots."
She humorously added, "The only advice everyone gives me is to bring my wellies," suggesting she might opt for a novel mode of transportation, such as riding a pony around the festival.
Other notable acts on this year's line-up include Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy, making his debut on the Pyramid Stage, and award-winning rapper Little Simz, scheduled to perform just before Coldplay.
Thirteen-piece boyband Seventeen will also make history as the first K-pop group to grace the main stage, underscoring the genre's growing prominence over the past few years.
More traditional Glastonbury acts, such as Idles, Disclosure, and The National, are slated to headline the Other Stage, the festival's second-largest arena.
Tickets for the event sold out within an hour of release in November. A resale of cancelled and refunded tickets is scheduled for April.
Headline-Making Headliners?
As always, the spotlight shines brightest on Glastonbury's headliners, sparking debate about their worthiness for the slot.
While some fans may lament the absence of rumored acts like Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, or Stevie Wonder, the final line-up reflects Glastonbury's ambition to diversify following the all-male, all-rock headliners of 2023.
Dua Lipa's return to Glastonbury after seven years signals her meteoric rise to stardom since her last appearance. Coldplay, veterans of the festival, will headline for the fifth time, breaking records in the process.
SZA, born Solána Imani Rowe, represents a wildcard among this year's headliners. Despite her relatively low profile in previous years, her recent successes suggest she may steal the spotlight from her more established counterparts.
