KFC, owned by Yum Brands, has announced plans to invest £1.49 billion ($2 billion) in the UK and Ireland over the next five years. The investment is expected to create more than 7,000 jobs
within KFC and its supply chain.
Currently operating over 1,000 restaurants across the UK and Ireland and employing around 30,000 people, KFC aims to open 500 new outlets over the next decade. As part of this plan, £466 million will be allocated to launching new locations and refurbishing 200 existing ones. An additional £583 million will go towards job creation.
The company said demand for fried chicken in the UK is on the rise, with the market currently valued at £3.1 billion. KFC added that consumer interest in fried chicken is outpacing other fast-food segments and is expected to continue growing. Photo by Coolcaesar at English Wikipedia.
