Passengers could face delays and station closures starting Friday as London gears up for a busy Pride weekend.
Transport for London (TfL) has advised travelers to check their journeys in advance due to multiple events, including Saturday's Pride parade, which will make central London services and stations particularly crowded. Passengers may experience queues before boarding trains, and some stations may be exit-only on Saturday. Additionally, certain bus routes in central London will be diverted or will terminate earlier than usual due to road closures.
TfL also warned that Oxford Circus Tube station might close at short notice on both Friday and Saturday due to unspecified industrial action.
In a statement, TfL suggested parade participants arrive at Bond Street, Hyde Park Corner, or Marble Arch stations. Those planning to watch the parade or attend events at Trafalgar Square or in Soho should use Bond Street, Charing Cross, Embankment, Tottenham Court Road, Victoria, or Westminster stations. Passengers needing step-free access should use Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, or Green Park stations, or consult the TfL Go app for step-free options.
Emma Strain, TfL’s customer director, commented: “It’s going to be a busy one this weekend and it will be really exciting to see everyone come together for the parade. We encourage people traveling around London, whether for Pride celebrations or to other destinations, to check before they travel.” Photo by MangakaMaiden Photography, Wikimedia commons.
