A man has been charged after a string of disturbing incidents targeting synagogues in north-west London.
Ionut-Cristian Bold, 37, who has no fixed address, is facing multiple charges including six counts of racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage, and one count of racially or religiously aggravated harassment.
Police say the incidents took place between 4 and 11 September, when four synagogues and a private home in Golders Green were vandalised with substances smeared across them. Other attacks included liquid being thrown towards a school and over a car. Investigators believe the substances used were bodily fluids.
In addition to the aggravated charges, Mr Bold has also been charged with three counts of criminal damage and one count of possessing an article with intent to cause damage.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Superintendent Zubin Writer, who oversees local policing in Barnet, Brent and Harrow, condemned the incidents, calling them “revolting and appalling.”
