British Queen celebrates

The United Kingdom and the United States are set to sign a multibillion-dollar technology agreement during President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Britain, according to the British Embassy

in Washington.

The deal is designed to strengthen collaboration between the two countries’ massive tech industries—worth trillions of dollars combined—while opening up fresh opportunities for businesses and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Although final terms are still being worked out, officials say the partnership will center on breakthrough areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, telecommunications, and quantum computing.

“Cutting-edge technology like AI and quantum computing will transform how we live and work,” said UK Technology Secretary Liz Kendall, who stepped into the role earlier this month.

Trump will arrive in the UK on Tuesday for his second state visit, which is scheduled to last three days. He’ll be joined by top American tech leaders, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI’s Sam Altman, underscoring the scale and ambition of the talks.

The visit is also expected to spark a wave of private-sector deals. Sky News reported that BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, plans to pour $700 million into British data centers as part of a broader package of investments.

Both governments have been ramping up cooperation on artificial intelligence this year. U.S. firms such as Anthropic and OpenAI are expanding their presence in London, while UK companies like DeepMind continue to deepen their ties across the Atlantic. Photo by The White House, Wikimedia commons.
