Thousands of Vodafone customers were left without internet access on Monday after a major outage hit the company’s broadband and mobile networks.
The telecoms giant confirmed it was dealing with a significant technical problem affecting broadband, 4G, and 5G services across the UK.
According to monitoring site DownDetector, more than 100,000 customers reported problems throughout the afternoon. The first complaints started coming in shortly after 2 p.m., with most people saying their home broadband had gone down. Some also said they couldn’t get online via mobile data.
A Vodafone spokesperson said: “We’re aware of a major issue currently affecting our broadband, 4G, and 5G services. We appreciate our customers’ patience while we work to fix this as quickly as possible.”
The outage even disrupted Vodafone’s own website, leaving many customers unable to access support pages.
