Tesla’s sales in Germany took a hit last month, falling 9.4% compared to the same period last year, according to new data from Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
The agency reported that Tesla sold 3,404 vehicles in September. Despite this dip, the broader electric vehicle (EV) market in Germany continued to grow strongly — overall battery-electric car sales jumped 31.9% year over year, reaching 45,495 new registrations.
Looking at the bigger picture, Tesla’s performance for the year so far has been much weaker. Between January and September, the company sold 14,845 cars in Germany — a steep 50.3% decline compared to the same nine-month period in 2024.
