Seven Iranian men have been charged with grievous bodily harm following a violent altercation outside the Iranian embassy in Knightsbridge, west London, according to the

Metropolitan Police.

The incident occurred shortly before 10am on Friday near Princes Gate, where officers responded to reports of a fight during a protest. Two men, aged 37 and 39, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.

Police believe the clash involved individuals with opposing views on the Iranian regime.

A total of eight people were arrested, including the 39-year-old injured man. Seven of those detained have now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They have been identified as:

Mohammad Nadiri, 30

Pourrezaei Vahid, 41

Armin Hasanlov, 35

Esmaeil Balouchy, 50

Saeed Hosseingholipoor, 34

Farzin Suleimani, 31

Aref Yazdan Parast, 31

All seven have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Footage circulating on social media showed a chaotic scene, with two injured men lying on the ground inside a fenced area. One man appeared bloodied, while another was motionless, clutching his leg, as police officers provided assistance.

In response to the unrest, authorities imposed restrictions on protests in the area, effective until 1pm on Sunday. Photo by Paasikivi, Wikimedia commons.
