British Queen celebrates

Polls are set to open at 07:00 for millions of eligible voters in England and Wales as they prepare to cast their ballots in a range of elections. Across England, 107 local authorities will be holding

elections, along with 11 mayoral races. Additionally, a by-election in Blackpool South will determine the new MP following the resignation of former Conservative Scott Benton. Voters across both England and Wales will also participate in the election of 37 police and crime commissioners (PCCs). However, there are no elections scheduled in Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Counting will commence after the polls close at 22:00 on Thursday, with initial results anticipated to be announced after midnight on Friday, May 3rd. The results will continue to trickle in throughout Friday and over the weekend, with the final outcomes expected by Sunday afternoon.

Mayoral results, including those from prominent areas like Greater London, West Midlands, and Greater Manchester, will be disclosed on Friday and Saturday. Similarly, declarations for the London Assembly election will be made on Saturday. The winner of the Blackpool South by-election is also projected to be announced early on Friday.
