British Queen celebrates

Michael Gove predicts that the Scottish National Party (SNP) will abandon its demand for a second independence referendum and instead focus on obtaining more

resources from Westminster. Speaking at the Scottish Conservatives' spring conference in Glasgow, the Levelling Up Secretary stated that the SNP would concentrate on its claim to be "Scotland’s party".

Gove rejected Lord Frost’s proposal to roll back devolution and the powers of the Scottish Parliament. When asked about the SNP's approach to constitutional matters, Gove stated that they would rebrand themselves as Scotland's party, fighting for more resources at Westminster and delivering services in line with Scottish values. He also emphasized that the Conservative government is delivering the most for Scotland, with Scottish Conservative MPs being the best representatives for the region. Gove said that making a strong pro-union case is essential, and that continuing to showcase the benefits of the union will be crucial in retaining it. Photo by Policy Exchange, Wikimedia commons.
