Lidl has issued an urgent warning to customers after one of its popular frozen products was found to pose a potential health risk.
The supermarket is recalling Braemoor Red Hen Ham and Cheese Chicken Kievs (4-pack, 500g) because some boxes may be contaminated with salmonella. Eating food with salmonella can cause serious stomach issues such as sickness, diarrhoea, fever and abdominal pain.
The Food Standards Agency has highlighted that certain groups are especially vulnerable, including young children, older adults, pregnant women**, and anyone with a weakened immune system or underlying health condition such as cancer, diabetes or liver and kidney disease.
What to do if you’ve bought them
Lidl is urging anyone who has purchased the affected kievs not to eat them. Instead, return the product to your nearest Lidl store for a full refund – you won’t need a receipt.
The recall applies to the following product:
Product: Braemoor Red Hen Ham and Cheese Chicken Kievs (pack of 4)
Weight: 500g
Best before date: October 2026
Batch code: 25190B

This latest recall comes just weeks after Lidl pulled its Red Hen Tempura Chicken Steaks (80g) from shelves due to undeclared milk in the ingredients, which posed a risk to those with allergies or intolerances.
