British Queen celebrates

Big news out of Manchester this morning — Ederson is officially leaving City after eight incredible years to join Fenerbahce. The deal’s said to be around £12.1m, and it clears the way for City

to bring in Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose signing was reportedly wrapped up on Monday.

Ederson leaves behind a huge legacy: 372 games, 18 major trophies, and a spot in City’s legendary treble-winning side of 22/23. Six Premier League titles, a Champions League, two FA Cups, plus the Super Cup and Club World Cup — the guy basically won it all. Oh, and let’s not forget his 168 clean sheets, three straight Golden Gloves, and the fact that no other Premier League keeper has more assists than him.

In his farewell, Ederson said he was “incredibly proud” of his time at City, calling it the most special chapter of his life and promising he’ll remain a City fan forever.

It’s not just Ederson moving on either — Manuel Akanji is off to Inter on loan, with an obligation to buy. He joined in 2022, made 136 appearances, and was part of that treble-winning squad too. And there could be more exits coming soon, with Ilkay Gundogan linked with a switch to Galatasaray. Photo by Brad Tutterow, Wikimedia commons.
