British Queen celebrates

On June 19, 2025, the Metropolitan Police announced that a missing diamond-encrusted Rolex watch may be linked to the murder of 69-year-old Jennifer Abbott, also known professionally as

Sarah Steinberg, in Camden, North London. Abbott was found dead in her flat on June 13, with tape over her mouth and fatal stab wounds. She was last seen walking her pet corgi on June 10, and the discovery of her body has sent shockwaves through the local community.

The police are investigating the possibility that the theft of the high-value Rolex was a motive for the murder. Detectives are keeping an open mind but are particularly focused on locating the missing watch, which they believe was taken from Abbott’s address. The investigation has included door-to-door inquiries, CCTV analysis, and appeals for public assistance. The police have urged anyone who may have seen the watch or suspicious activity in the Mornington Place area to contact them on 101, quoting CAD 926/17June, or to reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously.

Abbott, described by neighbors as a kind and private individual, was a well-known figure in her professional capacity as Sarah Steinberg. Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief, with tributes highlighting her contributions to the community. The incident has also reignited discussions about safety in Camden, a vibrant but densely populated borough. Residents are calling for enhanced neighborhood watch programs and increased police patrols to prevent similar tragedies.

The Metropolitan Police are working tirelessly to piece together the events leading to Abbott’s death. Forensic teams have been deployed to the scene, and investigators are exploring whether the murder is connected to other recent crimes in the area. The loss of Abbott has underscored the need for greater community vigilance and support for vulnerable residents. As the investigation progresses, the police remain hopeful that locating the missing Rolex will provide critical clues to solving the case. Photo by Marc Jacob, Wikimedia commons.
