British Queen celebrates

A man was arrested by London police on Monday following the stabbing of a 34-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl in Leicester Square, according to the

Metropolitan Police.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Authorities have stated that they do not believe there are any additional suspects involved in the incident.

Police have also indicated that the attack is not currently being treated as a terrorist-related event.

The young girl required hospital treatment, though her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The woman sustained minor injuries in the assault.

This stabbing occurred amid a surge of far-right riots in the country, described as the worst civil unrest in more than a decade. These riots were ignited after a tragic incident in Southport, England, where three children were killed and eight others injured in a stabbing spree.

In response to the violence, King Charles III made a public appeal on Saturday, calling for "mutual respect and understanding" amidst the ongoing anti-immigrant, far-right unrest.

King Charles also commended Prime Minister Keir Starmer and police officials for their efforts to control the violence and confront the escalating protests across the nation. Photo by Cheeseburger296, Wikimedia commons.
