In a symbolic gesture, King Charles III has introduced a new flag to the Royal Guard stationed at Balmoral Castle.
During a brief ceremony at Balmoral as he commenced his summer residence, His Majesty, accompanied by The Queen, presented the 'Ballater Colour' to the Royal Guard responsible for patrolling the castle.
This fresh emblem represents the start of King Charles III's reign.
The presentation coincides with the approaching first anniversary of his accession, which occurred at Balmoral.
On September 8th, 2022, King Charles III was at the castle when Queen Elizabeth II passed away. His Majesty was with Her Late Majesty during her final moments.
Having arrived at Balmoral earlier in August, King Charles III continues the tradition of spending part of the summer at the Scottish residence.
The King and Queen have been joined by other members of the Royal Family during their stay.
