Chinese technology giant Xiaomi recorded its strongest monthly electric vehicle sales performance of 2026 in October, delivering more than 50,000 vehicles as the company accelerates

production and expands its presence in the increasingly competitive electric car market.

The company announced on Sunday that October deliveries exceeded the 50,000-unit threshold, marking a significant increase from previous months and putting Xiaomi on track to pursue its ambitious annual delivery target.

The latest figures represent a continuation of the rapid growth recorded throughout the second half of the year. Xiaomi delivered more than 30,000 electric vehicles in August, followed by over 40,000 in September, before surpassing 50,000 in October.

Cumulative deliveries for the first 10 months of 2026 reached approximately 336,000 vehicles, reflecting the company's growing ability to scale up manufacturing and meet rising demand.

Xiaomi has set a target of delivering 550,000 electric vehicles in 2026. Its January-October performance accounts for approximately 61% of that objective, leaving around 214,000 vehicles to be delivered during the final two months of the year.

The company will therefore need to maintain a significantly higher monthly delivery rate to achieve its full-year goal.

Xiaomi expands beyond smartphones into electric mobility

Founded in 2010, Xiaomi has become one of China's best-known consumer electronics manufacturers, building its global reputation through smartphones, smart home devices and connected technology.

Its move into electric vehicles represents a major strategic expansion beyond its traditional electronics business. The company is seeking to connect its cars with its broader ecosystem of smartphones, software and smart devices, creating an integrated digital experience for consumers.

Xiaomi entered the automotive market with the launch of its SU7 electric sedan in 2024. The model attracted considerable attention in China, where the company has sought to compete with established carmakers and emerging electric vehicle manufacturers through technology-focused products and competitive pricing.

The company subsequently expanded its automotive portfolio with the introduction of the YU7 electric SUV, broadening its appeal in one of China's most important vehicle segments.

Xiaomi's automotive ambitions are supported by substantial investment in manufacturing, research and development. Its growing production capacity is central to its strategy of increasing deliveries while maintaining the technological features and pricing that have helped attract customers.

The October milestone highlights the speed at which Xiaomi is building its automotive business. However, achieving its 2026 target will depend on whether production can continue to expand rapidly enough to satisfy demand during the remainder of the year.
