British Queen celebrates

New Green Party leader: Zack Polanski has won by a landslide, beating Adrian Ramsay & Ellie Chowns.

In his victory speech, he went straight for Labour, telling Keir Starmer: “We’re here to replace you.”

Polanski – a London Assembly member and former actor – promised a more radical, “eco-populist” Green Party, aiming for 30 MPs at the next election. He ruled out a coalition with Labour, but hinted at possible cooperation with Jeremy Corbyn’s new left-wing project.

He also blasted Farage’s Reform UK as “charlatans” and said the Greens are the “real patriots” because they back safe routes for asylum seekers.

The party’s membership is now at a record 68,500.

Labour congratulated him but pressed him to clarify his stance on NATO. Photo by Rob Browne (rights waived), Wikimedia commons.
