Former US President Donald Trump is set to arrive in Aberdeen, Scotland on May 1 to open a second golf course at his controversial Menie Estate. This marks his first
visit to the United Kingdom since 2019, when he visited the country with his wife Melania Trump for a state visit.
Mr. Trump is expected to visit his golf course in Doonberg, Ireland after the opening. On his Truth Social platform, the former president shared his excitement, claiming that the golf courses and hotels in Scotland and Ireland are among the greatest in the world.
Scotland’s First Minister, Humza Yousaf, expressed concern over Trump's previous controversial remarks and stated that he would find it "difficult" to meet with him. Mr. Trump faces criminal charges over his business practices, which he has pleaded not guilty to. During his last visit in 2019, thousands of people across UK cities protested against his visit.
