Bayo Dosunmu, the chief executive of Lambeth Council, who earns nearly £185,000 annually, is facing multiple charges related to driving and drug offences.

Dosunmu, 46, was arrested in Westminster on Sunday after allegedly failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He has been charged with possession of a Class A controlled drug, driving over the alcohol limit, and driving without insurance.

Dosunmu, who resides in Hammersmith, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 1 August.

In response to the incident, a council spokesperson stated that interim leadership arrangements have been implemented. They added, "We are unable to make any further comment due to an ongoing police investigation." Photo by Reading Tom from Reading, UK, Wikimedia commons.
