Barnsley Council's planning committee is set to review a proposal for the construction of approximately 100 new homes on a former agricultural field located along Barnburgh

Lane in Goldthorpe.

The envisioned development includes a mix of residential units, comprising 22 two-bedroom homes, 44 three-bedroom homes, and 29 four-bedroom homes. Additionally, the project incorporates provisions for affordable housing.

The application is scheduled for deliberation during a meeting at the planning board on Tuesday.

As part of the proposal, the applicant has committed to contributing £71,250 toward sustainable travel initiatives, £540,000 for educational purposes to meet anticipated future demands in the region, and over £153,000 toward the creation of green spaces.

Notably, the application has garnered seven letters of objection, primarily focusing on concerns related to parking and traffic. Photo by Barnsley2112, Wikimedia commons.
