A sunflower farm is calling on visitors to maintain their attire after reports emerged of people disrobing for photographs.
Stoke Fruit Farm located on Hayling Island has witnessed a surge in reports of individuals engaging in nude photography at its Sam's Sunflowers visitor attraction.
One visitor recounted an incident where her son encountered a woman wearing only a thong and felt unsure where to direct his gaze.
Sam Wilson, the site's manager at Northney, verified a few "isolated incidents" of nudity had occurred.
Wilson stated that there had been four instances of naked photoshoots since the flower-picking fields opened on 28 July, three of which occurred on the same day.
He appealed, "We have always had photo shoots here but they are always respectfully done and it's always organised so other people are not affected. People are having fun and taking pictures for their Instagram but we just ask that they keep their clothes on."
Instagram sunflower enthusiasts bolster Hayling Island farm's popularity A Facebook post from the farm read, "Reminder to all, we are a family area and please keep your clothes on in the sunflowers! We are having an increase in reports of naked photography taking place and this must not happen during our public sessions, please."
A visitor commented, "Yes, we stumbled on a 'session' - I'm not a prude but I don't expect to see almost naked bodies while searching for the best blooms."
Another visitor reported a woman wearing "just a thong," adding, "Our son got a right eyeful last night, should have seen his face!!"
Most comments displayed a sense of humor, with some speculating whether it had been a publicity stunt, while others defended the right of individuals to be nude in public.
One person wrote, "Nothing wrong with topless. So teach children it is not right and the taboo continues." Photo by I, BenAveling, Wikimedia commons.
