Lotteries Limited, the operator of the National Lottery, has confirmed the receipt of a claim for £111,709,000 following the announcement of the winning numbers on Friday.
This remarkable win marks the second EuroMillions jackpot won in the UK this year, following an anonymous ticket-holder who scooped £46 million in the draw on May 5, 2023. The latest lucky ticket-holder now ranks as the 12th biggest winner on The National Lottery Rich List, which is led by last year's record-breaking £195 million jackpot winner.
The EuroMillions draw takes place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, and is played across nine European countries. The tremendous success of UK ticket-holders in this year's EuroMillions draw is evident, with a total of six Euromillions jackpots, amounting to over £820 million in prize money, being won by British participants.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners' Advisor at The National Lottery, expressed delight over the news, stating, "It is wonderful news that a lucky ticket-holder has claimed this incredible prize. We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the validation process and help them start to enjoy their win."
The claim will undergo a thorough validation process conducted by the National Lottery, which includes checks to ensure compliance with the Games Rules Terms and Conditions. Upon successful validation, the prize will be paid during an appointment with one of Camelot's Winners' Advisers.
Once the ticket has been validated and the winnings disbursed, the decision to go public with the news rests with the ticket-holder. The upcoming period promises excitement and possibilities for the fortunate individual who is now the recipient of this life-changing jackpot.
