British Queen celebrates

From August 26, Lloyds Bank will roll out a new app feature allowing customers to deposit cash at more than 30,000 PayPoint locations — including convenience stores where they might also

pick up groceries or send parcels.

Using the Lloyds, Halifax, or Bank of Scotland mobile app, customers can generate a barcode in the “everyday” section. The code, valid for two hours, is scanned at the PayPoint counter. They can then deposit up to £300 per day in notes and coins, with a monthly cap of £600. The funds will appear in accounts within minutes.

The service adds to existing options, with customers still able to pay in cash at any Lloyds, Halifax, or Bank of Scotland branch and over 11,500 post offices.

Nick Wiles, CEO of PayPoint, said the expansion “delivers more convenience and access for customers close to where they live,” while Lloyds’ payments director Gabby Collins described it as “ideal if you’re popping in for milk or dropping off a parcel.” Photo by Doyle of London, Wikimedia commons.
