Ternopil resident Alina Remenets played the piano in a destroyed apartment. It was there, on December 2, that her father, Vitaliy Remenets, lost his life as a result of a Russian drone attack.
This was reported by Ukraine's 24 Kanal, citing the mayor of Ternopil, Serhiy Nadal. The report states that the Remenets family's apartment was completely burned down in the attack.
During the night of December 2, an enemy drone struck a high-rise building in Ternopil. Vitaliy Remenets, who lived in an apartment on the fifth floor, died on the spot along with the family’s pet dog. His wife, Ivanna, shielded their 11-year-old daughter, Veronika, with her body but sustained severe burns herself. It was also reported that the older daughter, Alina, was not at home at the time of the attack.
Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal shared a video of Alina Remenets performing a poignant song on the piano in her destroyed apartment.
"War has taken a loved one from her, but it has not broken her spirit. In her eyes is the pain of loss. This young heroine is a symbol of the resilience of the Ukrainian people. Despite the terrible trials, life goes on. And the sound of the piano among the ruins is like an anthem to the triumph of humanity over cruelty," – wrote the mayor. Photo by 24tv.ua.
