Israel has mobilized an unprecedented 300,000 reservists in response to a multi-front attack by Hamas from Gaza and has shifted its stance to an offensive strategy, according to the chief

military spokesperson.

Following a sudden assault on Saturday, Israeli military aircraft have conducted extensive airstrikes on Gaza targets, while ground forces have been engaged in efforts to regain control of border villages and towns that had been overrun by Palestinian militants.

Rear-Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief military spokesperson, reported that control had been restored in those communities, although sporadic clashes continue as some militants remain active. He emphasized that comprehensive searches and clearance operations are underway in all affected areas.

Previously, military officials had focused on securing Israel's border region before considering any significant escalation of counter-offensive actions within Gaza.

Hagari disclosed that 300,000 reservists have been called up since Saturday, a notable indication of preparations for a potential invasion, even though official confirmation of such plans is yet to be provided. He remarked, "We have never drafted so many reservists on such a scale. We are going on the offensive."

Hagari also confirmed reports from the media stating that 700 individuals, including 73 members of the security forces, have been killed on the Israeli side of the border. He added that Israel's military has neutralized hundreds of Palestinian militants.
