The Prime Minister held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan this afternoon, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Armenia’s role in hosting the European Political Community summit and praised the country’s ongoing efforts to promote stability and peace in the region. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Pashinyan’s leadership in advancing these initiatives.
Discussions focused on deepening cooperation, with the UK reaffirming its commitment to supporting Armenia’s resilience. This includes collaboration on countering disinformation, enhancing cybersecurity, and reinforcing democratic institutions such as an independent judiciary and free media.
A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to establish a new UK–Armenia Strategic Partnership. This framework aims to boost collaboration in defence and security, drive economic growth, and strengthen democratic resilience.
