Metropolitan Police officers in Camden have arrested a 16-year-old male and recovered 16 stolen mobile phones, which will be returned to their rightful owners.
The arrest followed a phone robbery near Euston at around 08:00hrs on Thursday, 6 February. A police helicopter tracked the suspect to Belsize Park, where officers swiftly acted on gathered intelligence, leading to a raid on a nearby property.
During the operation, officers discovered approximately £1,000 in cash, a quantity of cannabis, and 16 mobile phones. Additionally, a Surron electric motorcycle parked outside the property was seized. The teenager has been bailed pending further investigation.
Inspector John Wilde, a senior officer in Camden, highlighted the police's ongoing efforts to combat theft and robbery, particularly involving suspects using bikes, e-bikes, and mopeds.
“This arrest demonstrates our commitment to tackling robbery and theft,” he stated. “By gathering intelligence, linking incidents, and responding quickly, we’re achieving significant results—recovering stolen goods, disrupting criminal activity, and arresting those suspected of these offences.”
