British Queen celebrates

Billionaire property magnate Nick Candy has announced a significant financial commitment to Reform UK, pledging a "seven-figure" sum after resigning from the Conservative Party to join the

Nigel Farage-led group as its treasurer.

Candy, a long-time supporter and donor to the Conservatives, criticized his former party for what he described as a "complete breach of trust with the wealth creators in our country." He confirmed his decision to take on a fundraising role for Reform UK starting in the new year. His wife, Holly Valance, a former pop star, is also a vocal supporter of the party.

During a photo opportunity with Farage, Candy was asked about his personal financial contributions to the party. He confirmed he would be donating "seven figures," signaling his deep commitment to Reform UK’s mission. When questioned about whether the party was catering to millionaires and billionaires, Farage dismissed the notion, emphasizing, "We haven't sold a single peerage." He also stated the party needed significant financial resources to run national campaigns.

Defections and Growing Momentum

Reform UK has recently gained momentum, bolstered by high-profile defections from the Conservative Party. Among the recent defectors is former minister Andrea Jenkyns. Additionally, Suella Braverman's husband, Rael, left the Conservatives to join Reform UK, marking another win for the party.

Candy’s appointment as treasurer was described by Reform UK as its "latest coup" ahead of the upcoming local elections in May. The party’s leadership, including Nigel Farage, expressed confidence in Candy’s ability to attract the funding necessary for Reform UK to achieve its political ambitions.

Candy’s Vision for Reform UK

In a statement, Candy elaborated on his decision to leave the Conservatives, citing disillusionment with broken promises. "I have today resigned my membership of the Conservative Party after many years of active support and substantial donations to the party," he said. "Nigel Farage is a close personal friend of mine, and Reform UK represents the future of British politics."

He added, "I am pleased to announce that I will now become the Treasurer for Reform UK and intend to raise enough funds for them to win the next general election."

Farage welcomed Candy’s involvement, praising the party’s growth and influence. "We are the fastest-growing movement in British politics today, and Nick's efforts will help Reform UK transform our country," he stated.
