Five Bulgarian nationals suspected of spying for Russia will face charges of conspiracy to conduct espionage, according to the Crown Prosecution Service. Orlin Roussev, Bizer Dzhambazov,
Katrin Ivanova, Ivan Stoyanov, and Vanya Gaberova will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 26. They are accused of conspiring to collect information for an enemy, with charges relating to activities between August 30, 2020, and February 8, 2023.
Three of the individuals were previously charged with possession of false identity documents on February 11, 2023. The case follows an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, and the CPS emphasized the importance of avoiding any reporting or sharing of information that could prejudice the proceedings.
