Grant Shapps has been unveiled as the incoming defence secretary, taking over from Ben Wallace, who resigned after serving four years in the position.
This marks Mr. Shapps' fifth cabinet assignment in less than a year, encompassing roles such as energy secretary, transport secretary, and, albeit briefly, home secretary.
Mr. Shapps previously vied for the position of prime minister in 2022 as a contender to replace Boris Johnson but eventually withdrew to lend his support to Rishi Sunak.
Ben Wallace has confirmed he will not seek re-election as an MP in the upcoming election.
