British Queen celebrates

Nigel Farage has responded to the apology from NatWest Group's chief executive, Dame Alison Rose, stating that it is only "a start" and vowing to continue his campaign amid the ongoing

controversy over bank account closures and freedom of speech.

Dame Alison Rose apologized to Nigel Farage for "deeply inappropriate comments" made about him in official papers, and announced a full review of Coutts' processes regarding account closures. This comes after Mr. Farage claimed that his account was closed due to his political views, leading to criticism from senior Tory MPs, including Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

In response to the swift government action on stricter rules for bank account closures to protect freedom of expression, Mr. Farage praised the ministers but stated that questions remain for Dame Alison and NatWest.

While he appreciated the apology, Mr. Farage accused the bank boss of being forced into it by the Treasury. He vowed to continue his battle, emphasizing that thousands of others are in a similar position.

Dame Alison reiterated the importance of both freedom of expression and access to banking in society. The situation continues to be a topic of political furore and is closely watched by many. Photo by Gage Skidmore from Peoria, AZ, United States of America, Wikimedia commons.
