A major grass fire in Stourbridge has spread to nearby properties, affecting at least six homes and leaving two people suffering from the effects of heat and smoke, emergency services said.
Around 60 firefighters were deployed to tackle the blaze, which broke out across parts of the town in the West Midlands on Thursday.
Footage filmed from a Sky News helicopter showed flames engulfing at least three properties close to the main fire, underlining the scale of the incident.
West Midlands Fire Service said crews were dealing with fires in several locations around Ounty John Lane, Racecourse Lane and Stourbridge Road, with additional resources brought in as the situation developed.
The service said six properties had been affected by the fire. Two people were reported to have been affected by heat and smoke, although no further details about their condition were immediately available.
The blaze also disrupted local infrastructure, with some rail services suspended as a safety precaution. Several properties in the surrounding area were also experiencing power problems.
Fire crews remained at the scene as efforts continued to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
The full extent of the damage to homes and other property was not immediately known, while authorities had yet to provide further details on the cause of the blaze.
