Cllr Claire Holland, the chair of London Councils and leader of Lambeth Council, has been awarded an OBE for services to local government and public service.
Holland has represented Oval ward in the London Borough of Lambeth since 2014 and became leader of the council in 2021.
She was elected chair of London Councils in July 2024, having previously served as acting chair. In the role, she has led the cross-party organisation through a period of significant political change at national level, helping to build new partnerships with central government.
Her tenure has also seen close collaboration with the Mayor of London and borough leaders across the capital, including work on city-wide initiatives such as the London Growth Plan.
Cllr Claire Holland said: "I am extremely honoured to be awarded an OBE from His Majesty the King. It is a very humbling and proud moment to be recognised in this way. I will use this OBE as motivation to continue working hard on the front line of service delivery across London, supporting those most in need, and building a better future where all Londoners can achieve their ambitions."
