Early Tuesday morning, commuters faced significant delays as traffic snarled along the M4 westbound near Hayes in west London. The disruption ensued following a crash just prior to junction
4 for Heathrow and Uxbridge, prompting the closure of one lane along the motorway.
Reports indicated that traffic backed up for five miles, stretching near Boston Manor Park in Brentford, as observed by traffic monitoring systems such as Inrix.
Adding to the commuting woes, disruptions on the Elizabeth Line persisted throughout the morning rush-hour, extending until approximately 9 am. A signaling issue at Taplow necessitated trains to operate at reduced speeds along the line towards London, according to National Rail.
As a result, Elizabeth Line services encountered potential cancellations or delays of up to 15 minutes, exacerbating the challenges for commuters navigating the morning commute. Photo by Maxwell Hamilton, Wikimedia commons.
