Sussex Police have reported that six individuals have been hospitalized following the discovery of migrants in a lorry on a ferry at Newhaven Ferry Port in East Sussex.
As of now, the exact number of people found at the port has not been confirmed.
Authorities have arrested one individual on suspicion of facilitating illegal entry into the UK, while a second individual was arrested for illegally entering the country, according to Sussex Police.
Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities at this point, and the port remains operational.
Both Border Force and police are present at the scene, with images depicting multiple ambulances in attendance.
On social media, Maria Caulfield, the MP for Lewes, expressed her concern about the situation, stating that her office in Newhaven observed heightened activity at the port. She extended her gratitude to the emergency services for their swift response.
