British Queen celebrates

A popular Ickenham pub has reopened its doors following an extensive six-figure investment designed to transform the venue ahead of the festive season.

The Coach & Horses, operated by Stonegate Group’s Heritage Pubs division, welcomed customers back after a full refurbishment aimed at enhancing both comfort and entertainment. The venue is one of 39 Heritage Pubs across the UK, a collection focused on food-led hospitality and an inclusive, community-driven atmosphere.

The renovation has seen the pub fully redecorated while retaining its traditional charm. Guests can expect fresh paintwork, new carpets, updated furnishings and enhanced seating throughout, creating a renewed sense of comfort for regulars and first-time visitors alike.

Known locally as a destination for live sport, the Coach & Horses has significantly upgraded its viewing facilities. A total of seven new HD television screens and a modernised audio-visual system have been installed indoors, while five additional HD outdoor screens now allow customers to watch Sky Sports and TNT Sports in the beer garden. The outdoor area also benefits from heated seating, enabling year-round use.

Late-night entertainment has also been improved with new lighting throughout the venue, designed to complement the pub’s live DJ offering.

As part of the transformation, the pub’s garden has doubled in capacity and now features sheltered booths, providing a cosy outdoor option for guests. Its location near popular walking routes also makes it an attractive stop for dog walkers, with dogs welcome throughout and water and treats available at the bar.

The Coach & Horses offers a wide range of beers, ciders and wines at competitive local prices, alongside an extensive no- and low-alcohol selection.

In the lead-up to Christmas, the pub is supporting a toy donation drive for Great Ormond Street Hospital. From 1–20 December, guests can donate toys behind the bar to help bring festive cheer to children in hospital. A special Christmas quiz will also take place on Tuesday 16 December, with all funds raised going to Harlington Hospice.

General manager Dave Hogg said: “We’re delighted to welcome everyone back to our pub following its brief closure. We’ve kept everything our guests know and love, while making thoughtful improvements where it was needed, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the difference.

“This refresh is all about enhancing the overall guest experience with the new sports offering at the heart of that. We can’t wait to see locals enjoying the new outdoor TVs with the heated seating meaning they can be enjoyed all year round.”

He added: “We have great food and drink deals available all week and with a special 25% off your total bill for bookings on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and surprise giveaways on our social channels, we’re expecting Ickenham to love trying out the all-new Coach & Horses.”

The food menu includes classic pub favourites alongside indulgent Sunday roasts with bottomless Yorkshire puddings, gravy and roast potatoes. Customers can also take advantage of the Cask Ale Collector Card, which rewards drinkers with a free seventh pint after purchasing six. Weekly quiz nights and family-oriented activities continue to form part of the pub’s community events programme.

A full weekly deals schedule is also on offer, including:

- Wine Wednesdays with selected bottles from £20

- Steak and wine Thursdays with two steaks and a bottle of wine for £50
