PC Mohammed Adil, a member of the West Yorkshire Police force, is facing court appearances after being charged with two terrorism-related offences.

PC Adil, hailing from Bradford, stands accused of two counts of publishing an image in support of a proscribed organization, specifically Hamas, as per Section 13 of the Terrorism Act. The alleged actions occurred within messages exchanged on WhatsApp between October and November 2023.

At 26 years old and stationed in Calderdale, PC Adil has been placed on suspension by West Yorkshire Police pending further investigation. He is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct directed an inquiry into the matter, which was conducted by Counter Terrorism Policing North East. Following its conclusion, the case was deemed appropriate for referral to the Crown Prosecution Service. Photo by Betty Longbottom, Wikimedia commons.
