British Queen celebrates

London's vibrant Vaisakhi festivities are slated to take place in Trafalgar Square on Saturday, April 6th.

Vaisakhi stands as the most significant festival in the Sikh calendar, marking a jubilant celebration of Sikh and Punjabi traditions, culture, and the birth of the Khalsa, which symbolizes modern-day Sikhism.

From noon until 6 pm, Trafalgar Square will come alive with a rich tapestry of Sikh and Punjabi culture, co-hosted by DJ and presenter Tommy Sandhu alongside entrepreneur, disability advocate, and speaker Shani Dhanda.

The program promises an array of captivating events, including soul-stirring Kirtan performances by the Grewal Twins and Kirpal Singh Panesar. Attendees will be treated to thrilling demonstrations of Gatka, the Sikh Martial Art, featuring the dynamic rhythms of The Dhol Academy drummers.

Expert chefs will enlighten audiences with insightful talks, while attendees can participate in turban tying, engage in film screenings, partake in sports activities with the Sikh Games, and admire the artistic endeavors of Sikh artists showcasing their work.

A dedicated children's marquee will offer an array of free activities courtesy of Kiddie Sangat, ensuring fun for the whole family.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to savor complimentary vegetarian delights and traditional Indian tea. This gesture echoes the spirit of Langar, a cornerstone of Sikh tradition, where free meals are served to all, promoting community and equality.
